The Shapes Puzzle
Synopsis: Match up the shapes to fit into the puzzle, and create beautiful pictures.
Added Value: The Shapes Puzzle enables children to develop the ability to identify, name, and match shapes. Puzzle games develop children's visual perception and their ability to link individual parts to a whole.
Tip: Play other games that develop children's shape identification and matching abilities. For example, create shapes out of newspaper or card; then draw the different shapes on envelopes and ask children to insert the shapes into the correct envelopes. Try to vary size, colour, type (right-angled triangle, oblique triangle, etc.), and orientation (upright, upside-down, etc.). You may also want to use shapes from different board games.
